Idling problem
Hi, The problem I am about to describe occured once about six months ago and then reoccurred yesterday and then again today.
After visiting B&Q -just a five mile journey- I got back into my 166 turned the key and the engine started but died just after I let go of the key. This process was repeated several times so I gave it some revs. The throttle was slow to respond but I could control the revs. When I let the accelerater go once again the engine died and I found the only way to get the thing to idle was to get the revs up and then very very slowly let my foot off until reaching idling speed and the car would maintain idling revs itself. Once the fault has cleared it drives normally.
If anybody knows what might cause this problem it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Neil
