poweflexing the rear...

put powerflexes on the rear of the rear swing arms.

damn thing wobbles like crazy, felt better when it had knackered old rose joints in there and the hub carrier ones.

So has anyone sourced the rose joints for the swing arms yet?

Re: poweflexing the rear...

Then something else is wrong. Both Quadcam and myself have powerflexed the rear and we can't say enough good things about it. Must be something else amiss.

Re: poweflexing the rear...

Maybe you need to Powerflex the front of the rear arms too. I imagine Powerflexing only the rear of the rear arms (replacing the ball joints) would give the flexible front bush a hard time and cause the arm to move in the wrong way.

This is true. You should use the whole powerflex set, not just part of it.

Re: poweflexing the rear...

Is it a side to side sort of wobble? like she's shaking her hips? I had the same frustration after doing mine and the usual suspect is the bush that the outboard end of the lower arm bolts to. This bush is in the rear hub carrier. See thread on rear suspension bushes. The alfa way costs hundreds to do as you need to replace hub carrier, hub and poss ABS sensors but Giallo found a part no which cross refers to a Mercedes part no which I got from euro car parts for a tenner each.

Re: poweflexing the rear...

sorted, the tw@s who did the four wheel alignment left the rears toeing in, BY 11 MINUTES!! that is a long long way, i adjusted it up using the very same TCL guage that Noah used to do the tracking on "the ark", so goes the story anyway and now it's tons better, and the steering wheel is straight, so each rear wheel was trying to steer the back end of the car, in a different direction.

Wont use them again.

Good news. Glad it wasn't anything too bad.
