Sticking Rear Brake on my 166

Help required please!

Today I have noticed that the rear passenger side brake is "sticking".
When I drive off it feels like the brake pad are stuck to the disc, but then they free themselfs once the wheel turns about 3/4 of a rotation.
Also the handbrake red warning light has flickered on and off 3 or 4 times.

Can anyone please suggest some causes for this as I will have to take it to a garage next week (affraid I'm no good with a spanner) and I would like to be armed with a little knowledge before the mechanics start standing around, kicking the tyres and scratching their heads.

Much obliged

Re: Sticking Rear Brake on my 166

Could well be a seized handbrake cable,or not so likely a seized brake
caliper, which would mean freeing off ,cleaning and new pads ,making
sure the backs are coated with coppaslip on assembly.
I have had 3 166s' never had a rear caliper seize ,but my last 02
plate was in need of a handbrake cable, relatively common on this
model.
