New 166 quirk?

When the engine is cold, or even just warm, the car bunny hops/jumps/porpoises in first and second gears when I start accelerating, even moderately. I really have to treat the accelerator carefully for about five minutes, after which it stops doing it completely and reverts to normal, especially in the higher gears. It doesn't do it at all when the engine is really warm, and accelerates really well. Advice would be much appreciated.

Re: New 166 quirk?

Hello i would try a new Lambda this is a common cause for poor running from cold.( but could also be a water temp sensor problem!) advice would be to have an examiner/like check carried out.

Today it drove perfectly from cold, no tantrums. Does that mean anything?

I think you are absolutely right. That's why I love being inside it.

Hehe I know the feeling. Went to move mine back into the garage and it wouldn't start. After half an hour of twiddling and tapping, the ICS rebooted itself and vroom! purring again.

*shrug*

Re: New 166 quirk?

My car has a new Maf listed as the repair for the fault you describe in it's service history which apparently cured it
