Facelift 166 pics

Hopefully this will work this time. This is the Mango 166TS that I picked up last week.

Re: Facelift 166 pics

Re posting pics, there's a really helpful thread on the photos lounge. It's basically a question of re-sizing the pics. I've used Picassa 2 as it was on my computer anyway and it was easy.

Re performance, it's brisk rather than fast- you have to keep it on the boil, but I'm used to that as this is the third 166TS that I've had (following two 164TSs). The big gain over the V6 is in handling. The front end is very pointy and turns in extremely well. On this car with 245/40/18s it's like a big luxury go-cart, no understeer at all and, on the revised suspension, very little roll. So on fast A roads a 3.2 would see me off, once on the back roads there would be nothing much in it but the TS would be more satisfying IMHO.

Re: Facelift 166 pics

if you keep the twinky on the boil they are great...i was having some fun over in skye the other week and i managed to hold my own with my mates M coupe, although when he wanted to squirt by he could since he has something close to 350bhp! But the old girl didn't disgrace herself, especially round the twisty bits

Re: Facelift 166 pics

Lovely - Enjoy. Funny how we always try to convince ourselves with positives of our motor that it is really what we want!

When I had my 156 TS's I used the handling line but basic fact was the 2.5 did not do it for me, I was used to 3.0 164's - When the 156 GTA came along I was gutted and really jealous.

Now I want a 166 3.2 but try to convince myself that the extra BHP would not really be noticeable and that the new front end is not worth the price hike!

It has to be Italian! Fiat, Lancia & Alfa all my days.

My Alfas - 164 3.0 12v - 156 1.8 SP1 - 164 3.0 24v - 156 SW 1.8 SP3 - 166 Super - 166 3.2 Ti - Brera SV JTDM

Re: Facelift 166 pics

changed my rear pads recently.same symptons but after using a
few days found the clearance between pads and discs adjusted itself
and now there is no excess travel on handbrake and it works fine.
