ECU errors - Knock sensor and throttle circuit

Hi all, been a while since I posted anything, that does not mean I have not spent anything on the car

Over the recent months have replaced radiator which cured overheating issue, fitted new exhaust found one from a german company for 340Euro delivered; its virtually the same as the original one looks same and no additional noise ! And lastly just fitted a new MAF from AA, which has improved perf especially at top end but not really fixed the sluggish perf at the low end that has always seem to plagued this car.

Anyway reason for this post, just recently the fuel injector warning light has been coming on & off ! Just had the car in at the local car to read the fault codes.

There were actually 3 codes in the memory, 1 fault code from each knock sensor circuit (two faulty knock sensors seems unlucky), and the last code was from the throttle position circuit. Unfortunately we cant tell the dates of the faults, so have reset the faults so will hopefully catch the correct fault fault next time.

One interesting thing they picked up on the diagnostics, was that the throttle position sensor only went from 0-70% rather than 0-100%, so I have seen the posts on the throttle reset and shall try that first. This might explain the sluggish perf I have experienced.

Has anyone had experience or comments on the fault codes I am seeing, does anyone know where the throttle position sensor is ??

Re: ECU errors - Knock sensor and throttle circuit

i presume the TPS will be on the throttle body...not sure how they work though as i think all the V6's have fly by wire throttle...

Re: ECU errors - Knock sensor and throttle circuit

I had an issue with the "fly by wire" throttle on my last V6. The dealer had it in and resoldered the connections at the throttle end, at least thats what the invoice said. Charged me half an hours labour (£40) which i thougt was fair. The throttle is like a potentiometer (variable resistor) that sends a resistance value dependant on throttle position to the ecu. The car was running sluggish before the fix and the orange light had come on. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I think connections are worth checking. One thing the garage pointed out was that my car was L/H then adapted so pedals come across to RH side (I guessed my car was an import sometime back, seems weird but he says its OK. Just makes finding the TPS difficult as I cannot see it connected to the pedal assy as the DTE suggests
