Fog light

Further to my previous thread -
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...isty-fogs.html (Misty fogs)

Turns out that the new light is still an issue, original Ok now. We have a dry weekend for a change so I removed it yesterday, that top screw is a pain to get at

Checked light out - All seems Ok with a good seal on rear cap. Breather tubes are sheltered and face downwards so don't think that is issue. Not sure about seal around glass so added some silicone sealant.

Going to refit now, we will see what happens when the rain returns!

It has to be Italian! Fiat, Lancia & Alfa all my days.

My Alfas - 164 3.0 12v - 156 1.8 SP1 - 164 3.0 24v - 156 SW 1.8 SP3 - 166 Super - 166 3.2 Ti - Brera SV JTDM

Re: Fog light

Light is held in place with three star head (allan key type) screws - I was using a small socket drive and had to use 3 extensions to eventually get at it. I used my left hand to guide the tool onto the screw and then put pressure on the socket with my right hand then got it. Very fiddly to find the screw!

Took me around an hour to take off, only a few minutes to put back on once I knew what I was doing.

Fiddly or what Dougie?

I wonder if Alfa Assemblers have small hands.

My forearm is all marked getting the bumper off.

With the bumper off its easy access to the fog lights.I took a picture but never looked at them properly. The fog misting seems more prevalent to the nearside.

If I had known what was to occur in the future I would have taken the bumper off to do the radiator instead of prising off the wire mesh grille.
Good idea with the silicone!

Must be 1 a week Mitch.More expensive than driving it.
I'm in tears £90 for oil pipes and that's once every 6 years.

Howard with the bumper off its a doddle. That's why I delayed doing the pipes.
As Dougie says if you know where the bolts are its dead easy the more you do it.

Re: Fog light

Still no rain up here but I have jet washed the 166 a few times and have concentrated water around the fog lights, from beneath also - No water ingress, must have been that seal.

Another niggle sorted - Yeah!
