Hoe easy (difficult) is it to change the pollen filter on the 166?

Re: Pollen Filter

Hi GFK, there's masses of info on the Tech Forum on this. I haven't got a 166, so no idea. Wish someone would ask about the filters on the 147, I know how to do these. Never get's asked though!

Re: Pollen Filter

Thanks for your helpfull responses. I was quoted 360 to change the pollen filter, part of a service, which seemed a bit excessive.

Re: Pollen Filter

360?!?!? You serious???

Filter costs about 15 quid (shop4parts have them) and takes 10 minutes to change....

Re: Pollen Filter

What!? Filter for £15, take about half an hour or so to change if you have not done so before.

Niall just beat me to it!

Re: Pollen Filter

How 2 do - Remove central box section of plastic bulkhead cover. Then unsbolt relay/fuse holder (2x 10mm, I think) and move it to the side. You can then get at the filter box, remove 2 screws on the top and then pull filter holder up and out.

Re: Pollen Filter

Apologies for error. It should have read £60 not 360! I was asked if I wanted the Pollen filter changed for £60 extra. Its going to be a 60000mile service. I had the full cam belt change done yesterday for £507.00 by L&M who also gave the car the once over and declared it fit for purpose.
