No idea, but how can you view this when you don't have the code? I don't have the code (and will try the approach given here tomorrow, no time today), and have tried the approach given in this thread (Alfa Romeo 166 ICS Internal settings.) without success...

Re: ICS codes and ICS removal - hopefully a definitive guide!

This worked like a charm!! Never touched the ICS before, and was all up and running within an hour! And since I'm such a nice guy, I thought I'd repay by posting the pictures I made during the process, may be helpful for others, as this thread was helpful for me.

First, removing the trim, lifting gently from the inside. Notice the tabs to be lifted:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...20166/ics1.jpg
These were actually easy to reach with my fingers:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...20166/ics2.jpg
There are four tabs in total, to be seen on the underside of the trim here:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...20166/ics5.jpg
Trim removed, here are the plugs (for buttons and cigarette lighter) that have to be removed:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...20166/ics3.jpg
The tabs are pretty small:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...20166/ics4.jpg

Next, screws on the trim bezel (the big U shape), two on the bottom, near the handbrake:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...20166/ics6.jpg
and two on the top, near the ICS:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...20166/ics7.jpg
When these are loose, just pry it out gently (downwards!), and these tabs will come off:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...20166/ics8.jpg

Now for the big part, getting the ICS out. I had never done this before, and got it out in less than ten minutes, so shouldn't be too hard actually. First, you have to find these holes, left:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...20166/ics9.jpg
and right:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...0166/ics13.jpg
Inside, you are looking for this tab (didn't manage to get a picture of it through the hole, but it's visible):
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...0166/ics11.jpg
Here's a picture of the hole on the left, after removing the ICS. This gives you an idea of the correct angle (and you can also see by the scratches that someone else didn't find the hole...):
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...0166/ics10.jpg
Flat head screwdriver at approximately this angle:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...0166/ics12.jpg
By pulling in the cassette hole, it should pop out just a little bit, no more than this:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...0166/ics14.jpg
When it's loose on both sides, it slides out easily:
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...0166/ics15.jpg

Getting the plugs on the back loose is a breeze, so it was now just a matter of getting the model and serial numbers (mine were actually on the sticker on the right hand side, and there was no numbers imprinted on the metal!), go to the link provided in the first post, and hey presto, success!!

Edit: why can't I insert images in the post? I only see the links...

Well done Addey!! Great addition to the post!!
To insert pics you have to "go advanced" then look for "manage attachments" then browse and upload.

Well done again

Ok, so I actually have to upload them? Not possible to link from other sites? I always use photobucket for other forums... Well, guess ppl can manage with actually clicking the link. Would be a huge post with all the pics in anyway

Great guide!

I'd like to add a small hint (or I must have overlooked it...): remove the two metal clips on the ICS once you have the unit removed. It'll save you time if you ever again need to remove the ICS. It'll stay firmly in place all by itself.

Got to bump this up as it's an excellent guide, not only Doddy's initial advice, but Addey's photos above are invaluable.

Agreed - unfortunately, I think I must have a different type of ICS.

My serial number - 5WK78176 Y1016480
Also found printed on the Alfa Romeo 'IDENT-KARTE' taped to the DSP amp in the boot. Unfortunately, the identity card doesn't mention a code... where to from here?

For helping if you put on this side the code it could work as well www.radio-code.lt and use the becker code.

Good Luck

Re: ICS codes and ICS removal - hopefully a definitive guide!

I have my ICS code, but no SatNav code. The previous owner said it's never asked for the SatNav code - Indeed when I viewed the car the battery was flat and the ICS waiting for a code. On my next visit all was fine and code had been inputted all working satnav too.

But I live in fear of having to disconnect the battery! Mind u - satnav on this car is not very popular this week, having led me a merry dance around the Leeds City Loop on Saturday night.....
