Re: ICS Display problem

eeek - looks like the screen has failed...or maybe the connector at the back? The unit's going to need to come out though to investigate

Re: ICS Display problem

Looks like possibly the backlight or backlight inverter is going. Try cleaning the connections with electrical cleaner first. Also, the panel is easy to remove and take to your local electrical shop for testing.

Re: ICS Display problem

one just sold on ebay for £31 + £10 post!

Note - I tried the CLIM & Dark button thing to give all the car spec. Mine is apparently a Left Hand! Anyone else tried this?

Re: ICS Display problem

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its not too difficult once you know where to look. I don't know how far you know how to go? So from the start:
1. remove gear leaver surround, the complete suround, this should just pull up from the front, but be careful of unclipping from the joint between it and the upper half, where the chrome strip is.
2. Remove the 4 screws the hold the black surround in place, this will pull off upwards after screw removal. Once again, it will fowl the edges of the chrome strip, so be gentile so you don't damage the strip.
3. The locate either side of the ICS unit the holes to the spring clips, on the left it is a slanted gap going upwards, if you use a small torch you should see the clip. Use a thing flat screwdrivewr to depress it, while pulling the base of the ics unit outwards, care again as you my pull the front surround off!. On the right the hole is harder to see, but do the same as the left.
4. Once you've pulled the unit out about 1/4 inch both side you should be able to pull it completely out. Caution because the cables at the rear don't have much room.

Hope this helps
