Creaky Clutch

Since I acquired my car with little over 30,000m on the clock, the clutch starts to creak and requires lubrication every 2/3months or so. I have been told by the garage that it is something to do with the nylon used in the pedals (apparently as a safety feature so they break away easily in the event of a crash and do not injure your feet)?? Anyone know anything about this or had a similar problem? It doesn't bother me hugely as I am a frequent visitor to my local garage and they always sort it without charge, but it would be great if there was a permanent solution. Most of my mileage is in the city and in traffic jams which probably doesn't help.

Re: Creaky Clutch

Sounds like they're using the wrong grease mine hasn't made a sound I've only owned it slightly longer than 3 months but 80% of my milege is stop start & mine has 113k miles on it now

Re: Creaky Clutch

Maybe its just the 2.0TS that gets the squeeky pedal. Mine does.

Re: Creaky Clutch

Glad to hear it's not just mine then! Like I said, it's not a major bother as it always seems to surface when I am making a trip to the garage anyway. Just another 'alfa-ism' I guess.

On the subject of the clutch/gearbox, the travel from 1st to 2nd gear on mine seems to take an eternity and isn't exactly 'smooth' - does this point to anything more serious or is it just the way it is with this model?
