Ahhhh

Having just done a 100mile dash to the Gatwick, I am reminded as to why I bought another 166. 65.1 mph ave. at 28.7 mpg 'aint bad for a gas guzzler and all done in true comfort.

The only blot on the M25 was the slapper in a blue Yaris with her foot glued to the floor: god those tyres look thin!

Re: Ahhhh

Absolute nonsense.

Did you never see the rally cars in the snow using thin tyres.

My 83 Citroen GSA had 145x15 tyres and handled and gripped brilliantly.

I had an 84 320i BMW which had no grip at all on wide tyres, indeed my girlfriend (now wife) used to be able to leave me for dead in her 957cc Fiesta on narrow tyres as soon as it started to rain at all.

This wide tyre thing is nonsense.

Apologies for the rant.

Re: Ahhhh

narrow tyres = better water dispersal
narrow tyres also = better aerodynamics so faster

on a motorway where dry grip is never likely to be lost, narrow tyres are better (but they still look weedy)

Re: Ahhhh

Also

narrow tyres = less rolling resistance

Just my 1/2p worth
