Alloys&Tyres for 3ltr 166- Offset?

Hi

Discovered I have a couple of Warped alloys, I have the traditional holed ones on my 1999 1666 3.0.

Thinking of replacing them, looking for ones you would recommend and places you would recommend to buy them?

Re: What alloys do you have?

Sienas are braw but expensive!

I have been watching these but I don't really need wheels so here goes -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fox-Racing-19s...QQcmdZViewItem

I know I will regret posting that if one of you buy and post a pic of your motor with them fitted!

Just noted 5x110 but will wobbly bolts sort that?

Re: What alloys do you have?

I have the Sienas. If you do buy them, get 6 as you will unlikely to be able to get replacements! Having said that, I think Zender stopped making the 166 ones about 6 months ago. You would have to ask them.

Alfa Sport for me too!!! Quite easy to clean.

With them being Alfa wheels, you could argue that they are standard for the car for insurance purposes!

As far as I know they only stopped making the 18" Siena alloy. The 17" is still available.

Re: What alloys do you have?

Each to their own but I am not a fan of the multi spokes - Makes the car look old in my opinion and must be a bugger to clean (Most sets I have seen are always clarty which confirms this to me!).

We don't all want to be the same anyway!

Well Happy Re: What alloys do you have?

Well the speedline look like the nicest to me- but a bugger to clean I'm sure. Haven't seen those Alfa Sport before - real nice.
As for the Sienas- what do they look like when your driving?
Thanks for all the posts and the link to the other pics

Re: What alloys do you have?

Tyre wise from what I can see on other posts Goodyear Eagle F1s or Dunlop Sport SP01's seem to be the tyres to go for?
Whats the ideal size?
I am looking for good grip in the wet over performance.

I think I can give some info here. I have Dunlop Sport SP01's on the TSpark, Goodyear Eagle F1's on the QV and Toyo Proxes T1-S's on the Super.

There's very little between the Goodyears and the Toyos in terms of grip IMO, possibly the F1s are a touch better in the wet, but it's really very hard to tell. The Dunlops are good in the dry and okay in the wet, but they're nowhere near as good as the other two. However, they feel a touch harder and look as if they'll last a lot longer than the F1s which don't last at all. I can't comment on the longevity of the Toyos as I've only had them a week.

The fact that the Dunlops are on the lighter engined TSpark will make a difference, but they do feel as if they're a slightly harder tyre and would last longer on the V6s than the F1s. If you want to get the most out of your car, I'd probably go for the F1s, but if you can get the Toyos cheaper, they'd be fine as well.

1.21 GIGAWATTS?!

97 P 164 3.0 Super, 95 N 164 TSpark (Sold to a mate, so I can still see it!), 95 M 164 Cloverleaf

Re: What alloys do you have?

I have Sava Eskimo S3 205/55-16" on steel wheels for winter and Goodyear Eagle F1 225/45-17" on alloys for summer.

Maybe GY are a bit noisy but I can bear with that, I had F1 on my previous AR 75 and they were also fabulous.

How did you find the Goodyears in the wet when worn?
Tonights little humiliation suggests to me that their wet weather performance drops significantly - couldn't get any power down even at 30 in 2nd

Re: What alloys do you have?

Interesting comments, I have also been told that alloys for a 3.0 super are different for a 2.o tspark. Can anyone confirm this as I hadn't seen that posted here?
