Hmmm Cruise control problem

This is a bit of a strange one when I set the cruise control it is turning itself off when I change lanes to the right on the motorway it always does it a couple of seconds after completing the manouvre as if the switch has been turned off.Moving left a lane causes no problem & I can even go round corners left or right without it causing a problem anybody got any ideas?

Re: Cruise control problem

Doesn't matter whether I indicate or not just seems to do it when it feels like it but it seems to be doing it more often worried it may be the start of something I could do without forking out fo out the moment my wallet hasn't recovered from the kicking it got from the new exhaust a couple of weeks back

Have a look at the switches on the clutch and brake pedals, they may need adjusting or the pedal bushes/cage may be loose (cc will cut out if it thinks that the pedals have been touched, or if you apply/touch them).

Re: Cruise control problem

I think cruise control also cuts off as a safety feature if the VDC / ASR kicks in. May be worth checking for the VDC warning light next time you make the maneuver - it could be cutting in prematurely and deactivating the cruise control.

Re: Cruise control problem

Or it could be a diccy connection in the steering column - a trpped wire from the stalk?

Re: Cruise control problem

Never had the VDC light come on & I be worried if changing lanes on the motorway made it think I'd be giving up driving I can't see it being the pedal switches as the route I use to take my GF to work has a number of speed bumps which I take at 20mph using the CC & it has never turned off yet on them it only does it changing lanes at high speed????????
