Crazed power steering leak

can anyone tell me how or what the external ruber steering pipe that runs at the back of the rack on my 164 24v is it connected to it goes from a thin metal pipe to a thick rubber pipe with what appears to be a sheath over the top where it seems to be leaking should there be some sort of jubilee clip here or is it just in need of replacing? you can imagine my dispair when after several hours changing the rack and pump came to bleed system only to find it peeing fluid out all over . anyone got any advice?:

Re: power steering leak

Just looked on Eper, not sure of the model, but it could be the long pipe from the back of the pump banjo and goes along to the other end of the rack and returns to the box banjo. If this is it, it comes in one piece at approx £100. It has 2 crimped connections to a larger section.

Re: power steering leak

if it's the high pressure side you'll have no chance of bodging it - massive psi in that part of the circuit IIRC

Re: power steering leak

agreed, the high pressure side (if it is that) has immense pressure, forget stemming it. Mike
