newbie questions

Hi,
just bought a 01 tspark with 62k on clock.

Thrilled to bits.

A few questions if you please

I have only got one plip key, what is easiest, least expensive way to get another? I have code cards etc.

Boot light does not illuminate when opening boot. I have changed bulb, any simple suggestions?

Within 5 miles of driving off in it, engine light came on. What's the story here? Any suggestions? Are these OBD compliant? Maybe I should get my own code reader, does anybody have any suggestions?

I have already figured out and repaired the remote plip which was non functional thanks to a link from this site to 156.net. Thanks

thanks

Re: newbie questions

Same happened to me soon after I got mine. Prime suspect is MAF. You need to get it diagnosed. Try an independent specialist in Dublin - I'm sure one or two have been mentioned on here previously.

And welcome to our exclusive coner of AR ownership. And sort out some proper photos!

Re: newbie questions

Welcome.

Have you tried checking the fuse for the boot light?

Re: newbie questions

good idea- will check fuse first.

I cant find maf on my car (2001) as it doesn't look like all the ones on this and 156.net.

Anybody got a photo of what it looks like on my eobd spec car?

Richard

Re: newbie questions

Hi Richard.

MAF is located on tubing below the air filter holder (beneath the big bucket).

Re: newbie questions
