Cruise Control woes!

Bit of an unusual one this, as mine didn't originaly have the cruise control fitted I aquired the stalk unit from a breakers and fitted it, wiring was there to plug into it, switches on the pedals etc. I'm a little unsure as to why I can't get it too work though, as far as I can tell everything is there for it to work, anyone got any ideas? I realy don't want to take it to the stealers!

Re: Cruise Control woes!

Hi

When you say it 'does not work', what do you mean?

Does it display the CC light on the dash? If not, it should

If yes, then it could be that the pedal switches need adjusting (as, when working, if the brake or clutch pedal is touched cc is cancelled).

HTH

Re: Cruise Control woes!

If yours is anythng like mine make sure you press no buttons before turning it on & make sure it is off untill you've started the car mine won't work unless you turn off the car and back on again if it is on when the car is started & if you press any button whilst in this state it has to be turned off
So to try to make that clearer
start the car with the switch n the off position
turn it on when over 20 mph then turn the knob for speed increase if that doesn't work then you have a problem
I thought mine was broke untill I found this out
luckily I'd tested it on the test drive so realised I must be doing something wrong since

Re: Cruise Control woes!

The light on the dash doesn't light, and on using alfa diag pluged into the diagnostics port, when you turn it on it registers nothing suggesting its not coming on at all, or not registering or recognised in the ecu, as its this that controls it.

Do you have a wiring diag for 166?

I'll have a look for wiring if I have my CD over here with me, and get back to you if I discover any hidden gem

Re: Cruise Control woes!

Have you tried rebooting the ECU? Not sure if that would help or not, but as it's free to do........ just make sure you have your ICS code before you do.

Yeah tried that one too, but thanks anyways, think I'm going to have to go to the stealer's as the local independent didn't know either.

Re: Cruise Control woes!

Watched some old posts and came across this one where you tried to retrofit cruise control.
I'm wondering if you managed to get it working?
