166 alarm

The alarm on my 166 started going off this morning of its own accord. No-one near her and she wasn't touched by me since the night before. Any thing to be worried about? I did have to jump start her at the weekend cos I was a fool and left the ac running while just sitting in her?

Re: 166 alarm

Do you have an aftermarket alarm? Any alarmsystem will reset if you loose power for some reason.

Re: 166 alarm

I know some about aftermarket alarms but the factory ones are a mystery to mee. However i remember using the remote to lock my old volvo (v70-01) and it would set of an alarm on a peugot 405 at the gym...

Watch it and install an aftermarket alarm if the problem continues. There are a few systems that will be able to use the factory remote. They are better and safer!

Re: 166 alarm

Just go down to your local garage filled with nasty looking teenagers that seem to think everything is about car stereos. They will sort it out for you. An alarm system is pretty tricky to install, if you haven't done it before. But most of the big name alarms will have the option to run off the original key.
