Clutch pedal? bearing or pedal box?

Hi,
asking for opinions/advise my clutch has suddenly develped about 2 inchs of play before any resistance at all. I've had a garage look at it and they are not sure if it is the clutch pedal bearing or if the pedal box is moving/broken.

Has anyone else had this problem if so how did you cure it please?

Many Thanks for your help

Geoff

Re: Clutch pedal? bearing or pedal box?

I am sure it will be a hydraulic clutch - May be a leak in the system.
