Baby Buggy / Car Seat

Hi all,

I'm soon to become a father for the first time, and so I'm just getting into all the bits and pieces I need to get.

I'm trying to get a travel system buggy which includes a car seat that will fit into the 166.

Any recent parents got any suggestions?

Alternately, anyone got any suggestions where I can go and try some to see if they fit? I live in Barnstaple (North Devon) and the local Mothercare only has 2 demo buggies!

Cheers

Colin

Not sure about the specific model but would suggest to check out Maclaren's buggies.

Just been through the same myself - suggest you look at Mamas & Papas Pliko range including Prima Viaggio car seats. Fits perfectly in my 147 and the buggy is long lasting but lightweight.

Car seat clips into base which remains in vehicle making everything v.easy.

Just for reference with a little research the same model can be found in Spain under a different brand name for about 60% of the price (inc postage) - just can't remember what the brand name is.

Re: Baby Buggy / Car Seat

I have a 166 and a 3 month old
we bought the quinny buzz travel system. dog's whatsnots and better still bought it on ebay for £150 off best price in the shops, BNIB with tags and manuals and all the accesories. expensive but worth it. look on ebay for a bloke, not a shop who has a good history of selling top quality travel systems (quinny, bugaboo etc)

Also, I know you are a bit far away but Mama+Papas have a factory in Huddersfield and have a proper factory shop where everything is 30-60% of retail. Thy do furniture, car seats, clothes and toys (including giant rocking horses). You can ring them up and check availability of certain items and they will ring you back if it comes in (they get most product lines)
so 50% off a current model travel system if not to be sneezed at.
My other car is an RX8 and I needed something that would fit in the nearrow boot opening and the Quinny buzz does.

Best Regards,
Paul

Its Peg Perego.

I find its a tight fit in the 147!

Re: Baby Buggy / Car Seat

I like BRITAX.

Both seat and buggy!

Just don't buy the infant seat carrier thing, pain in the arse. Buy the convertible seat that lays down when young and then flips around when they grow up a bit. It is a waste of money unless you do want the carrier thing?? We hardly used it, we just threw our girl in the buggy and off we went.
Just some advice.

Thats what I've got & it is a great system - the pram/buggy folds down just right for the 166 boot & the car seat fits nicely & is easy to use.
