164 offside headlamp unit wanted - Help1

Hi

I wonder as a last resort if any knows where i could pick up a second-hand offside headlamp unit for a 1990/91 2-litre 164 twin spark as the MOT in my local town of Newark, Nottinghamshire, were unable to open the bonnet and must have used a crow-bar to force it open, as I discovered a crack in the glass hidden by the rim of th ebonnet - unfortunately I had left the premises and they now deny everything - saying ot was OK at the test centre otherwise they would have failed it!!! Utter cowboys or what?

If I can't find a cheap replacement, unfortunately it is destined for scrap-yard heaven at the end of the week, so if anyone is interested in it for spares then let me know - the engine is still almost perfect - 103K - and it would be a crying shame for it not find a good retirement home, but I would prefer to keeep it on the road for another year, if posssibe...

plenty of 164's being broken for spares on Ebay, you should be able to pick one up easily for not much money, here is one example http://search.ebay.co.uk/alfa-164-spares_W0QQfromZR41 lol £25 for the whole car. failing that just type alfa 164 and u will see loads of stuff.

Headlight unit found today on ebay at £55 as opposed to my local Alfa dealer price of £188 inc Vat - thanks for your advice and I am looking forward to seeking your help again.
