Smoke?

Driving home last night and noticed small plume of smoke coming from behind the steering wheel. Pulled over and I shut it down. Looked around and couldn't find anything so she started up fine. after a minute the revs dropped to 500 and she kept juddering and then just went. She then wouldn't start. She was towed away anyhow.

Am I in deep trouble?

sounds like an electrical problem...no idea what though i'm afraid - guess it could be a lot of things....

May be ignition barrel/wiring.
Do you get ignition lights, or is it all dark?

She should be in the garage now but I'm not sure about the ignition. I did manage to start her agin after the smoke but then somehing fell apart?

Turns out at some stage in the car's life, someone mangled a wire for the fuel line and just taped it back up and so that's what blew. Only a 100 quid to fix but too much for something so small

i guess they were maybe charging for tracing the fault....could have been worse i suppose! Glad you've got her back working
