service schedule

hello all
i wonder if anyone knows if my cambelt would have been changed during the regular service intervals? i have the service book up to date and the cars done around 64000 miles, last service was completed at 62000. its a 2.5 2001 166. any info would be gratefully accepted thanks.
also while im on here some information for anyone thats interested,
my passenger rear door wouldnt lock so i unplugged the connector in
the door space and reconnected it and that fixed it.
just got air filter from partco and paid less than nine quid bargain!
got some red dot discs and pads from ebay for 90 quid, wow!
plus tailored car mats £15 + post.
next job oil and filter, i fancy fully synth, what do you think?
spark plugs look a chore but hey the weathers good, right?
oh yeah, and some donkey in a vectra thought i wanted a race.
my sides were hurting afterwards, i could hear his four pot gm straining as i just cruised along next to him. toad of toad hall comes to mind.

Re: service schedule

Err, probably not as the Alfa Service schedule says it's to be done at 72k...but if you're lucky it might show up on a receipt if you have one.

I hope you are not "lysimachus321", because I wanted those pads & discs as a back up I use them already - they are very good IMO

Re: service schedule

I wouldn't expect your cambelt to have been changed but i will give you the best advice yet....get it changed now purely for peace of mind. If that snaps your cars worth nothing. On a happier note, welcome to AO and you have made a great choice in cars.

Re: service schedule

In DK the cambelt change intervals for Alfas has been reduced by Fiat DK to 80k KM, approx. 50k miles. So, you should have it changed if not done already. The change was because of too many mishaps.

Rule of AO, don't bid against a fellow member (if you can avoid it)

Bearing in mind he's got a V6, their belts tend to last a bit longer. Although at 5 years, I'd think about getting them done now.

Re: service schedule

Simple - if you've no proof it was done in the last 2-3 years or 36 k miles get it done. Period. £3k repair bill if that belt or tensioner goes.....

Re: service schedule

Where did you get the car mats from and what are they like?
I have been looking out for some on ebay for some time but only saw them once or twice in the buy it now section for ebay shops at the end of the alfa 166 listing.
I thought they were about £40 including postage which seemed a lot.

Re: service schedule

thanks for everyones help, cambelt kit is on my to do list. the mats fit like a glove, they are good quality but have no icons. they dont clip in like i imagine the oe items do. but they have a foam type backing which together with their fit they dont need anyway.
the item listing was 'alfa 166 luxury black tufted car mats'. i noticed there are other colours available from different sellers.
