Air Flow Meter

Hi,

I got myself a new (original Bosch) Air Flow Meter for use in my 166 (2.5V6 1999). However, it seems to be fitted with "torx with hole"-screws, and I don't have the right tools in my toolbox. I actually have some, but not the right size, apparantly.

Does Alfa use some special size? Who can enlighten me?

Sander

Re: Air Flow Meter

It's a size T20.
How much did the new one cost?
It's an arm plus a leg over here and the price just went higher recently. Apparently, the USA made ones are even more expensive.
I am trying to source one from UK via a friend who flies there frequently, so an indicative price would be helpful.

Cheers.

Okay, but my 6-star torx doesn't work. I found a picture where it seems to be a 5-star torx or something (admitted, that was on a 156)? Do you know which it is? Maybe it depends on the model/year?

I paid around €95 on Ebay (£65) including shipping. But: it's only the sensor.

Re: Air Flow Meter

Maplin carry a good range of Torx sockets, I got a 'Torx with a hole' set there to change the hard drive in my Sky+ box!
good luck Mike

Re: Air Flow Meter

yeah its a torx with a hole in t'middle. Get from Maplin or Machine Mart. Alternatively just use some pliers on the edge of the self tappers. Its only into plastic so they are not tight.
