New exhaust - OMG

Hi,

I just got my car back from the garage who put on a new exhaust (everything behind the catalytic converter). Someone noticed some blueish smoke coming out of the exhaust, though, while driving back to work.

Does anyone know whether a new exhaust does this? I never like seeing any smoke coming from any car, so I am kind of worried. Maybe it has to do with the exhaust being brand new?

I hope someone has some experience with this.

Sander

Prob just your engine burning a bit of the black stuff, were you caning it to test the new exhaust? New exhaust wont cause any smoke as such.

I would think you will get some smoke off the exhaust for the first few runs as it burns off any protective film used to stop it from rusting and cooks whatever they use inside the silencer.

Yesterday, I went back to the garage, and they said exactly the same thing. Since it wasn't quite as bad as yesterday (no smoke at all coming out of the exhaust and it didn't smell that bad anymore), I'm pretty sure that this is the case.

Problem solved!
