Hi again
A new issue has arisen on my second day of 166 ownership - hope this is just a blip...
Driving the car around town this afternoon when a red warning light came on the dash. Concerned I pulled over to consult the handbook - only to discover that yesterday I must have left it at the garage where I bought it from. I've not seen a warning light like this in a car before so I'm unsure if it's peculiar to Alfas and/or Fiat Group cars generally or not. It's red, and sort of looks a bit like a torch shape with three little lines going in one end and the same at the other wider end.
I wasn't too worried until I pulled away again - the throttle needed to be depressed almost fully in before it seemed to have any effect on the rev counter and accelaration. Keeping up with traffic it was fine but pulling off from standstill it was dire; at one time moving barely any faster than the 'creep' usually built in to auto boxes. Rather nervous moment at a right hand junction that was.
I pulled up, left the car for half an hour to see how it goes. Anyway, red light still on and the accellaration's a little better - but it still needs to be pushed harder on the pedal than it did even yesterday.
Anyone any idea what the problem is/might be? What's the warning light warning me about if nothing else?
I fear a trip to the Alfa dealer this week coming up for diagnostic purposes.
In hope...
Keith
