164 TSpark Engine

The engine in my 164 is in a pretty sad way - it has had a slight head gasket leak for some time but over the weekend a hose broke and the car overheated.

I want to keep the car and therfore am seeking advice on whether to get a replacement engine or have a rebuild? If I get a second hand replacement it could well be not much better than what I have on the other hand can the old one be saved and what would it cost?

Thanks for any comments

Cheers
Lee

Hi Lee,

Are you looking to do the work yourself?

If its just over heated then you should get away with a new head gasket and a headskim.

Try Mike at Rusper Alfa (Gatwick) or I will ask the Gonella Brothers in Catford and see what they have got when I get my car back this week (I hope!)
