Not Happy Rear Ended Grrrrrrrr

Well when you drive around with a rarer than rocking horse cr@p Zender rear end these unavoidable accidents are a nightmare scenario and it has finally happened.

Actually it's not that bad and comes with a good result. Day before yesterday I was in slow moving traffic and gently came to a stop. The 59 year old in his Fiat behind me decided to use my rear spoiler as his brake and just went straight into me. It didn't look like much but fibre glass has a way of hiding the truth and on closer inspection it's totally cracked along one side and a small split I had in the wing has turned into a huge gaping crack.

The guy said it wasn't worth putting a claim in but then didn't want to know when I said OK but I would send him the bill! A couple of police officers saw that he gave me his details and that was the end of that.

The assesor has been to see it today and has approved the work right away including the split that I had already which is pretty cool. It goes in on Monday and should take 3 days max. To top it all I've taken it to the insurance recommended shop so I'll get myself a free buff all nice and ready for my Club meeting next weekend!

All's well that ends well? Hope so!

J

Good to hear you managed to get sorted. I assume you were on one of those dual carraigways in stop start drivng - always a danger of being rear ended in that type of traffic as people are half asleep most of the time.

Worse than that. I was in a queue of traffic trying to get into Gibraltar!! The guy was looking to see if he could park up somewhere (presumably to get out of the queue) so he just drove without looking!! He said to me, "Your getting my insurance details because your annoyed that I hit you" NO SH!T SHERLOCK!!!!!

Re: Rear Ended Grrrrrrrr

happened to me this afternoon.

bumper damaged, boot doesn't open/close cleanly, bits of plastic sticking out underneath.

At least the guy didn't drive off, and seems to have given me genuine details.

Just got to drive around looking like I can't reverse

Impossible sadly but the guy who's going to work on it is handy with fibre glass and feels confident he can repair it. It's in first thing tomorrow and with luck I'll have it by thursday ready for my 2400km round trip to Pamplona!!

Thanks wrinx, outside Excavator pub in Buckland Hollow, coming from A38, the guy thought the traffic was moving off, hit brakes too late.

From v6j's woes, I have nothing to worry about - the bumper is the standard one, so (assuming it needs replacing) should be easy to source.

Am worried about the possible damage behind the plastic panels
