ICS Connectors

Quickie: does anyone know which Navigation connector socket is which on the back of the ICS? One is E60A and the other is E60B, one is black and the other green. Having taken the shells off to retro-fit a navigation loom I found the plugs inside the shells are the same colour. I can tell which is E60A and which is E60B from wiring diagrams but which belongs in the green shell and which in the black? For example, a couple of purple/black and brown/white pairs go into E60A - I think this belongs in the black shell but want to be sure before power-up. The shells are keyed even though it's obvious from their colour which socket they belong to... Thanks.

Re: ICS Connectors

Well, if the colours on the sockets are anything to go by, then the Green one is for the sat nav. Because the socket that plugs in to the nav reader is green.

Hope this is of some help.

*EDIT*
What a numpty I am !! I didn't read your post properly did I ?? Sorry. Seems my post is of no use to you after all. Sorry mate.

Re: ICS Connectors

Actually I did initially think along a similar line but the cables from the Nav loom are split evenly between the two plugs.
The colour of ANY cable into the black or green plug will help identify whether it's E60A or E60B. DTE doesn't help either - it just refers to the sockets in alphabetical order. About as useful as my local AR dealer...
Thanks for the response anyway

Re: ICS Connectors

Shall I take a pic of the cable going into my sat nav unit? Will the cable colour on there help?

Or does it have to be the ones in the back of the ICS?

Here's a pic I took a while back when I was about to retro fit my satnav: http://ukdmc.com/Alfa166/sn_Connect3.jpg

It's of the green connector that was waiting in the boot compartment for me when I started to investigate how to install sat nav in my 166. But luckily the cables were there already for me.

Let me know if there's anything more I can do.

Re: ICS Connectors

Thanks mate - but it has to be at the back of the ICS. If only they marked the unit somehow with the same numbers as used in their own documentation (e.g P20, E60A/B, H80, etc). Unfortunately DTE says all the connector shells in this loom are black, including the one at the Nav unit end, but of course we know these are green.
