Does anybody know how to adjust thease settings or have any service or user manual.

Yup, that's for a full size SIM card. A shame that Vodafone don't allow two Sim cards on the one account in Ireland... just typing in an activation code to switch between SIMs would be easier than messing with 3rd party hands free kits.

P.S. do you know what key combination brought up the internal settings?

The stuff looks like it is settings for calculating route times, therefore best direction etc....but I don't speak german, so it could be anything.


Still amuses me that the 166 is powered by ARNA (press 'clima', then hold right button, gives basic system info.)

Hi!
I have found Alfa Romeo 166 ICS (Siemens VDO) internal settings to happen on. If you press on your ICS buttons "CLIMA + DARK" you will access to Alfa Romeo 166 hidden, i think top secret service menu. There you can read your car ICS CODE, NAV CODE in the first screen. You can adjust odometer, injection and etc. :-)
You can also see other settings if you press right round button more than five sec.

I recommend - don't change any of thease settings.

I couldn't find anyway to adjust them.
The first screen is very basic software info - install date, version etc second screen (right button for 2 secs) is just basic info on nav and phone software which I don't have.

yes it s true
I check on my 166, and I saw only a simple screen with basic setting like serial number
software version etc....

but nothing about the ICS code

I yuo have some explanation

Anybody ever get this 'secret' screen up after??

When I tried that "CLIMA + DARK" thing I only got that basic info screen too. And it also states that I have a Left Hand drive!! Interesting, because the last time I got in the car, I definately drove on the right hand side of it......yup, pretty sure I was on the right.

I have navigation system G3 in my Alfa 166 and access "internal settings" I don't have any problems. Just press Clima+Dark. If you don't have G3 it's possible that "internal settings" doesn't work for you and you can see simple information about your ICS :-(

Ahh, I see.

I have the G2 in my 166.

Did you upgrade to a G3 or did your 166 come with it?

What year is your 166 mate?

Tried this to get hold of a missing G3 stanav code, it came up with all the info but the satnav code was an 8 digit one, not the required four digits. I am still without satnav as a consequence. Central Alfa have now had the car for a week trying to get hold of the code, has anyone managed to get hold of the satnav code via a route other than though a main dealers?

i think mart has been able to source codes but probably from the dealer of siemens....takes about 6 weeks IIRC

Sounded like a great idea, so I e-mailed them straight away, this is their response.

"Thank you for your inquiry. I am sorry to advise that we have no
information relating to your system.

Production at Siemens VDO is strictly regulated by the individual
vehicle manufacturers. These regulations also state that Siemens VDO
cannot take part in the distribution of and support of spare parts or
information, as this is taken care of by the vehicle manufacturers
themselves.

I appreciate your frustration but i can only suggest, that you take it
up with Alfa Romeo Customer Relations."

At least they where prompt with fobbing me off, I'm still waiting to be told to p*ss off by alfa customer service!!
