Cheese Re: Alfa Romeo 166 ICS Internal settings.

This kind of option bytes that determine what functions will be available in the menu is pretty common, it wouldn´t surprise me if there are similar matters with our Alfas too. Would be nice if somebody could find out how to access them. Maybe there is a Pacman game included somewhere?

Re: Alfa Romeo 166 ICS Internal settings.

hi
do I have to push the clima and dark button in the same time or in specyfic combination, or do I have to hold it for some time?
Is it possible to get in this setup section when I'm fresh after battery disconection and the only thing my ICS displays is a row of numbers to choose the code?

You should put navi map CD in your Navi CD reader (any europe map) and when navi will be init. data and time will be sat automatical for actual time zone.

mita, you should clean the lens disassembling the CD driver, not using a cleaning CD. It's not a big deal if you are "familiar" with electronic device repairing, but anyway a bit complicated task.

Re: Alfa Romeo 166 ICS Internal settings.

I had to take the drive apart as I was getting CD error continually.

Only 1 fiddly bit to get the final cover piece off (needs to be folded off because of a stuck on cable).

I find it easier to take the whole CD changer & Navi unit chassis off - just be careful not to drop the top bolt under the carpets
Then the side screws are easier.

Use IPA & a camera blower brush.

Then the Volvo owner found on an internet forum that the radio had a build-in equalizer, which can NOT be accessed on the cheaper Volvo's. By adjusting a simple internal setting, his car has now a equalizer and a good sound.

Why this story?

I hope the Alfa ICS has the same hidden feature.
Does anybody know?
Mine has a DSP and therefore an equalizer which can be adjusted behind the audio button.
