Hmmm Central Locking Issue - Weird!

Hi All, today my central locking has gone haywire - Here is what happens and I am hoping someone can help.

When I lock the car using the remote all doors lock but immediately unlock - this also happens when I push the pin down either on the drivers door or the passenger door (all doors lock then pop unlocked again)

I can lock the rear doors from the inside and they stay locked.

Another thing is that the doors lock and unlock on their own about 6 successive times before remaining unlocked.

I have seen many posts indicating that I need a new door motor however if all doors do lock then isnt the motor ok?

Cheers
Lee

It sounds very similar to a problem I had with my Peugeot 405 - although the doors were locking properly a defective lock actuator on one of the front doors wasn't giving the correct "door locked" signal.

Dave called it right with the lock actuator, and it can get a lot worse if you dont address the issue pdq as I found out this week end when my drivers door locked itself and refuses to open ( It had shown the same warning signs as yours but I thought I would manage untill the weather improved a bit to tackle it ).

After climbing in from the back seat ( I had parked up close to a fence ) the inner door handle seems to have parted company with the lock as I tried to open it because it`s jammed solid.

I have managed to get the door panel lose on one side but still struggling to get my hand down far enough to trip the release so far, the daft thing is I have the parts to fix but because I left it its now a bugger of a job.........you have been warned ;0)
