Bleedin a 164 - Help

Thought it was all going far too well three calipers bled but the fourth (driverside rear) sweet nada, zilch, Zero fluid.

The rear compensator should be open as the shock is well compressed by a jack. Initially bled with both Front Left + Rear Left open then Front Right +Rear Right open.

Fitted a new MC hence the exercise and a pair of replacement rear calipers, I have clear fluid at all other corners and firm pedal when all closed off.

The connections to the ABS Module are marked VL, VR, HL & HR would anyone know what these indicate in terms of brake line in/out? I'm thinking I may have an air lock there.

I'm away from mine just now, so can't look which pipe goes where, but the brake load valve is worked off the middle of the suspension linkage, so compressing one strut might not be moving the linkage enough. Might be worth sitting it on its's wheels with someone in the boot.

Also, (long shot this!) it might be worth bleeding with the ignition on? I've heard of other ABS cars needing this.
Last thought, would be to leave plenty of fuid in the reservoir, open the bleed nipple and walk away for half an hour to see if enough fluid trickles down just under gravity, to allow the air lock to clear whatever the obstruction is.

Cheers Avo, took your advice re-fitted wheels dropped car and jumped up and down in the boot with the bleed screw open. Ignition off and bled the back right, took a while and almost gave up but suddenly lots of spluttering as it cleared.

Now for the cooling system, that fight starts tomorrow!

Was going to suggest it might have been a blocked/seized ABS valve....but thankfully not! Had a stuck shuttle valve in the 155 ABS unit once. That was fun to fix....

Btw...V is front, H is rear, L & R work equally well in English and German

These are all outputs to the respective wheels. There will also be two input lines, V and H
