After a 3.0 v6 engine transplant the car is immobilised,key code sysyem light is on.Do i need to swap the ECU and ignition barrell etc as well

Why Oh why did you no just sway our the different wee bitties frae the noo engine tay the auld engine and vice versa..boabs yer aunty etc etc etc....

Or is it summit else?

using the original ecu should be fine - when the new lump when in my twinnie the original ecu was used without any problem. Sounds more like an electrical fault....any codes been logged?

still trying to get a decent auto electrician as key code light is on and the wiring loom on the facelift is slightly Different.wire from bottom of gearbox sensor (green plug on old model)on my car it goes to two connectors (brown and cream)brown goes into loom and cream to another sensor on the block that is under the black water pipe,connector coming from engine is 3 prong and mines is totally different.Think i may have to take it to cp garage when euan gets back.

Probably your key is going to the dark zone.
Same happened to me.
