Now see here - just because I'm right doesn't mean to say I'm being pedantic
I think the official removal method involves just pulling the complete hub/bearing unit off the stub axle. This leaves one half of the inner race behind and you then have to cut through that to get it off.
If you don't have a decent puller then a session with the angle grinder is in order.

I might now be being pedantic butt I take it you,ve no done one yet. I have a new one ordered and was l;ooking for a few top tips before I start.
The order is tackle the NSF spring first then OSR caliper and the the bearing. At least its just a bearing and not an unmentionable
Well thet's the plan but you ken whit Rabby sayed aboo mice and men.

So a 3 legged hub puller is a real NO NO then.
Change of tack....Youse'll never Adam and Eve it....BUTTTT Its no the bearing Ken.
The tester pointed it out to me and I had a feel .He wasn't certain if it was the brakes binding or the bearing or a bit of both...I tried it and it did seam like a dry bearing.
However on stripping it down...see the other brake thread... I discovered the bearing seams fine...I did hear a weird sound....no easy when you are really deaf but the handbrake bracket had a wee bit sticking out and that was what was rubbing on the tyre....also a foreign object in the tyre..that threw me ..it was like the ball in a routette wheel .
So now I have a spare bearing arriving someday soon.Sure it will come in handy at alater stage.
Eshy is this the hub bearing at 40 squid.?

If you can do it with a puller ill be very surprised......shocked and be happy if you have any knuckles left.
Your good with the tools which means the best and easy way is hub off, take it to a garage and get them to fit it if you dont have a press..... a 10tonne + press by the way.
They actually gave me a huge discount because of a **** up before and cost me £20 for both and had TRW written on them.....send yours back....It wasnt a a hub bearing it was the rose joint I changed by the way...........I am guessing you actually mean a hub bearing?

Dare I say it there would be much less confusion on this forum if peeps were a bit more pedantic.
e.g.:
Is it a bearing - no it's a bearing/hub unit
Is it a bush - no it's a knuckle/rose joint/spherical bearing
Is it a hub - no it's a hub carrier etc............

When I did my merc bush, each side, only needed 4T to push them out (no heat) and 3.5 ton to push them in!!
But yes, a 10 ton to be on the safe side. I tried all manor of bits of studding/nuts/washer/sockets type combos, but it had to some off, and go to a press.....
