That won't be there for long before it's snaped up and on a certain forcourt for twice that amount I bet, if not more.
I wouldn't be worried about the mileage, when I sold my 2.5v6 it had over 170k on it and was still as sound as when I got her at 50k.

The mileage is no a worry ..its the tensioners etc on a 3.2 ..as reults have shown the 3.2 is not as reliable..belt etc wise,as the 2.5 and 3.0.

BUTT as you say how can you compete if behind the scenes negotiations, dinnae mention rangers, and a magnum of champignons (frence word fur mushrooms)...oops champers.

He knocked back my 2k offer and a bottle of 17 years old (by is sell by date) coop ginger wine essence. Saving that beauty for when I get my 3.2 F/L the wet its head in style.

I assume these have the same cat filled exhaust manifolds as GTAs/GTs/Ph3 GTV V6s?

Alfa 166 3.0 Alfa GTV TS

Man that has got to be the best priced 3,2 Ti ever on ebay.
Looks like a real genuine motor and not some old snotter being sold by some dubious trader.
Oooh i want it but the Mrs says no!
Who wants the crappy sat nav that is fitted to 166s if you get lost you just get to listen to that V6 sound and enjoy your drive.
And that has to be a very very late model with the "Benzina and Aqua dials as this type of thing only started to be the norm on all late model Alfas such as Brera ,GT 159 etc.
As the man says if you want you can arrange your own mechanlcal trial so obviously not out to hide anything.
I think he means 18" wheels though.
THE ULTIMATE 166 and soooo rare .

Yes i have seen this 166 around and looked at it parked up one day and it does look the business ,if this doesnt go for more than £2.5k then every other 166 around will obviously devalue accordingly like £500 for mine.

Not an Alfa :-(

Weirdly mine is August 2005 (so a few months after this one) and it doesn't have the 'Benzina' business on the dials.

At this mileage, it isn't the engine I'd be worried about - what work has been done to the suspension? Are the door locks about to give up? And so on...

If it goes for less than £3,500, I'll eat my...um...cufflinks?!

Yes mine was registered december 2005 and doesnt have the bezina/aqua dials but of course when were they built ? As we all know 166s sat around a long time before they were sold, I bought my previous 166 a 54 plate 2005 when it was a year old with delivery mileage of 9 miles!

The benzina/aqua was on the black dials, realy just the Ti's. Mines a 05 TS Ti and it has them.

Actually Mark it is a realistic asking price according to moi wisebuyers
WiseBuyer's Guides - Alfa Romeo 166 (1999-05) mileage adjusted used car prices et Parkers Alfa Romeo 166 Saloon 3.2 V6 24V Lusso TI 4d 2005/55 used car prices | Parkers and the seller kens his onions.

So if any prospective purchaser does his homework I cant see Velocettes getting anywhere near their asking price..but the exceptions as previously touched upon apply as alwys.

Pomeo (That is no to say i am knot tempted...AAARGH)
Benzina or not benzina that is zeeee ?

That 166 came from the same garage as mine Roadside of Coleraine NI. They lost their franchise not long after this one rolled off their forecourt! Nice motor, but i'd spend a couple of grand on suspension and engine before taking it too far. Uncle Munkles's 166 is still the one to buy.

Must do lottery

No worries ..I have a 25 gallon drum of barrier cream. Butt if i am successful I will need to build a big barrier to hide behind.
Should I go to 12 k to stop Velocettes getting her.

Hi Pom.

Alignment pretty good all in all, just a gradual wearing down on the inside of my wallet! Nothing too bad. Could the 13 + stone parked behind the wheel affect the tyre wear

Car has 161,500 miles and mrs. H says i'll be buried with it some day (not sure how to take that) but my 166 is the ultimate non-staus symbol. My mates drive X5's ans E class Mercs - i'm just the token randomer in the company now. Suits me fine.

I managed to blag a few days at Turnburry last Easter (i'm a golf pro (can't find smiley for to$$er)) really enjoyed it (Stranraer's a bit of a zoo though -no offence ). I'd love to take another trip across to Ecosse again some time soon with family in tow. If you could just let me know which week summer falls this year i'll get it organized. How come you got 3 x 166?? Did they mate? Must check your photos...

Hi Hami,
that's good ...was it the boomerang bit that sorted it out,I've still to experiment with that bit as it's the only bit not touched yet. So you are aligghtweight then....Optimun according to experience to achieve balance in wheel alignment test with test weight in drivers seat 12-14 stone.

I need that 4th (the F/L) so that when "she" hangs draws and quarters me I'll have a pice of me in each. I shouldn't have let her watch Braveheart. To me driving a 166 is being like Buzz Lightyear.......ing in style.

So is no one gonna hazard a guess at what this baby will fetch?

I ken it started at what it was worth in the heads hard cash but what will the heart reach?

I am expecting a last minute thrush on the bidding (assuming of course velocettes dont do a behind the scenes thingy)but i have ointment for that Tay ,it's a dip in the Clyde, if you come out of that smelling in roses you are fine, its trying to trace a surgeoan that will replace MY heid if/when I arrive home in it.

Pomeo

Its a wee bit like the runner in cool runnings..no matter who wants it I want it more...But will I go the limit?
God I am even arguing wie masell again.
