Clutch Judder (V6)

I always thought the clutch on the 3.0L V6 166 was under specified but now when the car was in for some other work the engineer remarked that the clutch had judder. Alfa are quibbling about addressing this under the warranty (11 months / 19 k miles). Anyone had a similar experience?

Re: Clutch Judder (V6)

Tim,

I had quite the opposite, to be honest. After 70k miles, the original clutch was still fine. I would suggest that 19k miles is much lower than the expected clutch lifespan. I'd argue strongly to get this replaced under warranty.

Hope this helps,

Martin.

Re: Clutch Judder (V6)

84k on the original clutch. It's not light and it has always had a bite point close to the floor but I can't complain.

Re: Clutch Judder (V6)

OK so mines a 156 V6 but I`ve got 150K on the original clutch so far...

A judder after 19K is a warrenty item IMHO.
