with the manua or auto thing, it seems to me that a 3.0 auto is about on par with a 2.5 manual, and a 2.5 auto is about the same as a twinnie (2.0's were manual only)
even my old twin spark wasn't slow, although not massively quick, and that was a relatively sick example. my current 2.5 is a different beast though, and is VERY keen through the gears.

looks the same colour as mine which is Odessea blue, the other blue is ontario blue, but that has more grey tones in.

Would it need a new wing? Looks like rust coming through there?

no, the scratch has done down to bare metal, and will need a bit of treatment, but if i can get it sorted soon enough or get some treatment on it then that should keep the rust at bay.
the pics were done this morning i believe and the seller lives at the end of a farmyard track hence the slightly dirty appearance.
Lots of random swirls.....oh goody, the polisher will be working overtime
It not a definite yet, i am still waiting for more pics sometime this week, agree a price and sort out getting from Plymouth to Norfolk, talk about the other end of the country

good luck with the blue super, paintwork can be a biatch to match. Also front wings/bumper are pain to seperate,so don't unless essential.
Sent my silver super back 3 times after new bonnet fitted and painted. In the end they painted bumper and front wing and "blended" the front doors.
Completes shambles, massive colour shift, different texture and shine. I did get my mirrors repainted "for free". I also got overspray on tyres/suspension and interior thick with dust/paint residues.

This looks a great car to me (I don't know who is selling it, but it caught my eye the other day)
Alfa Romeo 166 2.5 V6 24valve Automatic for sale in Dublin: €2,150 - DoneDeal.ie
I'm not sure what the situation is with importing a car from Ireland into the UK-if we buy a car in the UK, we have to pay mad money to reg it over here.

I know this is not in your criterior but should be an easy fix and could go for silly money.
