Alfa Romeo 166 Production Figures

*Update*

Forget the original figures below, after further discussion with Alfa Romeo, I now have the full 166 UK Production Figures for all variants, including for the years 1998 & 1999, which were previously missing.

I have created a pdf with the details here, which you should be able to view using Acrobat Reader.

======================================== ==============================

Finally, here are the official sales figures for Alfa Romeo 166s in the UK. Unfortunately, figures for 1999 are not available, ie. lost , so this is for Y2K to end of production.

I am still trying to obtain a breakdown per year of production but, in the meantime, this makes interesting reading.

Total Production over this period was 1940 units.

Model Designation | Model Derivative | Total Production No.

100 | 166 2.0 TS TURISMO | 3

151 | 166 2.0 T SPARK | 357

152 | 166 2.0 T.SPARK 16V | 429

155 | 166 2.5 V6 | 138

156 | 166 2.5 V6 24V | 115

300 | 166 2.0 TS LUSSO | 113

303 | 166 3.2 V6 LUSSO | 44

305 | 166 3.0 V6 SPORTRONIC | 36

557 | 166 3.0 V6 24V SUPER | 153

558 | 166 3.0 V6 SUPER | 131

655 | 166 2.5 V6 SPORTRONIC | 123

657 | 166 3.0 V6 24V SPORTRONIC | 164

658 | 166 3.0 V6 SPORTRONIC | 134

Re: Alfa Romeo 166 Production Figures

So whilst the 166 is a rare car anyway, if you are a serious collector type, finding the 2.0 TS Turismo is your ultimate goal. With only 3 in production, maybe there isn't even one UK registered at all anymore!

Wow Tony....You just keep on doin it.

Just when all that is left is regurgitating all the old rubbish you always come up with a guid yin.

BUT

Ye ken me man...there is always a but.

Whit aboot the 98 figures....I reckon if you ca nt get the 99 then no chance with 98 BUT I kent how the polis manipulated statistics...sorry massaged I mean managed se what they did to me.

Anyway Pomeo not listed

Lacey is only 1 of 36 and quite a few have been written off.....So I may have a chance of a 3.2.

Knowing what I know now I should have gone for that med reps yaers ago..Hind bloomin sight.

Re: Alfa Romeo 166 Production Figures

Yes, it's a pity about the 1998 & 1999 figures but it seems that even Alfa don't have the information! No idea why they can't find out. I'm still trying to discover the reason!

God I am either sad or bad.

100 | 166 2.0 TS TURISMO | 3..................16V 170CV cf4 progression FL2003.

151 | 166 2.0 T SPARK | 357....................16v cf2 progression

303 | 166 3.2 V6 LUSSO | 44...................24v 225cvCF4 distFL2003

305 | 166 3.0 V6 SPORTRONIC | 36...........24v220cvCAE distFL2003

557 | 166 3.0 V6 24V SUPER | 153............24v cf3 progression.

658 | 166 3.0 V6 SPORTRONIC | 134..........cf2 progression.

So Lacey is a 2001 CF2 658 version so 1 of 134 so not as rare as I first thought.

Just not sussed the difference between 100 and 151 yet.

Yes, Distinctive and Progression are Lusso & Turismo trims. My car appears as a Distinctive on the German Alfa system.

Wow sele nice graph....as the holder of an SCE (IIRC Scottish Certificate of Education) O grade in arithmetic I can see a trend in the graph...1999 and 2004 peak and then fall off.....I think the UK one will have 3 peaks...1999 2004 and 2008 when the Malasian ones appeared.

Re: Alfa Romeo 166 Production Figures

Numbers per model and year. Good detective work. How about by colour as well! Also out of the 44 3.2's how many were TI spec i wonder, as these are after all the 166 'holy grail'. I was a bit surprised there were less (36) 3.0 sportronic facelifts than 3.2's as they come up for sale much more often, although this figure will be boosted by the malaysian ones. Seems you are as likely to see an 8C here in the uk as i think we get 41 of those....

If it was down to me accessing Alfa Romeo's computer system, I'd have that information, too . Unfortunately, I don't think they will be willing to go to that level of detail. It has taken months of laborious communication to get this far!

That's another anomaly in the figures. There is no distinction with the 3.2s and Ti versions

The Malaysian ones are not shown in the figures Alfa supplied, as they were not produced for the UK market and are effectively grey imports, sold through independants.

I'd think we'd all love that but surely Alfa would charge a fortune for that info, plus not every ICS/Sat nav code matches up with the original chassis no., as I discovered with mine. It's nice to know anyway that in 7/8 years of obtained production figures this car only sold under 2000 units, & mine is 1 of 153 (CF3 Progression).

Still keep up the good work Tony & other contributors!

I know mix and match even with brand new cars I discovered this with out 2001 bravo.Got the T shirt BUT this idea was actually tongue in cheeck as if they cannot easily give you the original no.when you are paying and have the chassis no. and they have bother with the no of cars sold.
BUT if you dont ask.

Re: Alfa Romeo 166 Production Figures

Rarity is definitely an issue with the 166..I can see only 600 3.0 sportronics for the UK...relatively a small number...Here in Lebanon there are only a dozen or so 166's all 3.0 sportronics..We never got other models..Mind you I've been told of this 2005 FL for sale, probably the only one here,I will try to do a swap deal on it if it's not too dear...It's got 20,000 kms only and priced around USd 18000.
I'd only go for a 3.2...If it's a 3.0 I'll keep mine...I'm hungry for the extra power..
