Alfa 166 Cigarette Lighter problems

Recently I got a satnav for my old man and the 12V car adaptor blew its fuse and managed to knock out my 12V sockets in the car.....

Everything else in the car seems to work except the 12V sockets.... anyone know which fuse I need to replace in the boot?

Re: Alfa 166 Cigarette Lighter problems

The rear 12v socket uses the same fuse as the central locking on my car, its in the fuse box under the steering wheel.

Did you get it solved Chapmasi.....IIRC Its fuse 7 at the steering column fuse box.

Mines did the same when I tried to open the boot using a cigar socket to cigar socket jumper.Just sussed it is the cigar lighter socket itself. The cigar lighter works in Lacey but not Pomeo so it is the socket. Also Lacey needs the ignition switched on for the rear socket to work ,but cigar lighter doesn't work in rear of either, but Pomeo doesnt.
Both front socket need ignition switch in at least the first position.

Re: Alfa 166 Cigarette Lighter problems

Got it sorted in the end, turned out to be a fuse, but it had blown below the visual point of the fuse itself so was hard to spot. Sodding thing

That's why a multimeter check eliminates it for sure or check by substitution..But the other fuse could be faulty too...Resistance check is best option.
