Re: left hookers

I know, I've looked at them on there too, but thought they were very over priced for secondhand left hookers.

Re: left hookers

That's interesting, Niall. Some of those listed are supposed to be 2007 registrations, which would be the final ones produced. There are a couple of 2007 JTDs I've seen here at 18K EUR so I can't see them selling in the UK for £16K-£19K. The only ones which are that price are the Collezione models.

Re: left hookers

will they actually convert if you could be bothered, or is it not possible to do, eg the lump of an engine gets in the way of the RHD steering rack

Re: left hookers

I don't think it's worth converting, anyway. The cost of the actual car is much too high and the conversion would not be cheap either. They may be relatively new in terms of registration date but they are very old cars and there's no way they're worth £19K plus the conversion cost!

Re: left hookers

Sadly the RHD diesel was never developed due to the UK being the only possible volume market (the japanese etc don't have the interest or the ridiculous fuel prices), and Alfa UK couldn't guarantee the 1000 sales a year to make it remotely viable.

Re: left hookers

i think it would be very easy to convert to rhd, all the rhd 166 s are actually converted and not designed rhd...if you look the brake booster is on the left hand side and its linked to the brake pedal by a few metal bars, also the throttle position sensor is on the left hand side, linked to the accelerator .. replace the dash and steering rack and get the rods from the brake booster to the pedal from a breakers and that should be it. also the airbag sensor , the main one under the dash has a sticker that says 'rhd' in italian on it, so that might have to be replaced too

Re: left hookers

For comparison a 2006 2.4 auto with leather and all the toys
goes for about 26K Euros with 20K km on the clock here.

Alfa Romeo Occasions

From memory all the last models were of a single full high
spec with all option included as standard.

But that's over £20,000, Nev - for a secondhand 166! There's no way they're worth that.

Not sure about 'all'. The Collezione might be the model you're thinking of:
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...ontains-5.html (So what car would persaude you out of the 166? (Warming contains Non Alfas!))

Not in England maybe. Remember that in the rest of Europe second-hand car prices are higher due to our obsession with brand new cars and willingness to borrow money.

Edit: Just read it properly, I see what you're saying, it's not worth that over here!

Re: left hookers

The LHD company that sell on ebay have crazy prices - Not sure how they can maintain their level. Do any actually sell?

If you check out "Brera lhd" and "159 lhd" in ebay and then compare these to actual UK cars that are selling via ebay or Auto Trader for less money! Why would anyone in the UK want to pay more for a lhd model that is readily available here in rhd form!?
