Fuel consumption on that is probably dire. Worse than the car which parked next to me in the underground car park this evening - a Maybach 57S .

Hey tony have you got any pictures of a 166 collezione? What did this model have as extras? I mean any 166 hardly lacked equipment?

The Collezione was available with either the 3.2 V6 or the 2.4 diesel engine. I'm not sure which markets the Collezione was available in but definitely in Germany and definitely only in LHD.
It was basically an end-of-line fully loaded run-out model, so it included all the options from the Lusso/Distinctive model, such as 18" alloys, Xenons, navigation, electric memory seats, park distance sensors, steering wheel controls, Xender pedals and metallic paint.
In addition to the above options, it had lovely piped leather seats (see below), which weren't available on any other 166.

Everybody stay calm. Don't panic. It's just the end of the world. It'll be all right, as long as we all keep chanting.

I think it was just the black with cream piping but someone on here should be able to confirm that.

I see so basically some of you would only trade in your 166 for a 166!

Worked for me If you like your phase 1 166 and are looking to change you will be impressed with a facelift. If you can find one!

Same facelift does seem the realistic way forward when I upgrade.
Or just buy another car. I don't think I could part with the current one - I'll keep it for years.

The Colleziones are absolutely lovely! And they sport leather on the dash as well with beautiful seams. Seen some of them on Mobile.de.
I opted to ditch the M5 I had settled for after realizing the width of the economic disaster that is owning an M-car. And after a weekend in my new all black BMW M 535d the need for my Alfa is no longer as big as the night when I let it go. The power of the the big bi-turbo nuclear plant up front is nothing short of phenomenal (272hp/560Nm!)and the roadholding with M-packages everywhere is like that of a tank. And it can almost double the mpg of the 166, amazing stuff. So the next time I'm changing car it will be a second-hand RWD 169 V8!

Would have an A8 alongside the 166, but not as a replacement for it.

Re: So what car would persaude you out of the 166? (Warming contains Non Alfas!)
I'm looking at moving on at this stage and can't really find anything that fits the bill as well as the 166? Too much compromising, so i've taken a different angle and am looking at Citroen BX gtis!!!
When the C6 drops in price a bit more, I'll take one

Blimey, a BX? That's going back a bit. They stopped making them in '92! I had a 16V many years ago. Much quicker than a 205Gti, which only had the 8V engine. Wouldn't go back to one now, though. I'm looking forward to testing a C6 soon but I'm also not interested in spending £16K+ at the moment.

You bought a 535d, apart from the GTA is swap my 166 for the 535d! At the moment its the nearest thing to a 166, but it would have to be a top spec one! But it is a 40k car and a lot newer then a 166 and you get the MPG! But id still love a 166 in my life!

Most 535d are top spec and in my opinion the e60 BMWs has to have the M-package, they look like ****e without it. Active steering is also cool, feels like a 155 at lower speeds! And the comfort seats are simply the most comfortable thing I've ever sat my b-hind in...
Regarding the price, I paid 6 times for the BMW than what I paid for the 166! But I still think it's worth it...

Have you tried one or are you just talking about the looks? The reviews I've read aren't impressive at all, eg. "Ride is jittery, below par performance. Why go for a Brera S when there are other more capable rivals out there?"
