flat battery and keys stuck in ignition?

AAARRghhhh

I left a light on and killed the battery, then tried to star the car and it was dead... keys now stuck in ignition, no spare set and I cant open the boot to charge up the battery....

any ideas?

Why are the keys stuck?

Dunno.... They just wont come out? steering lock isnt on...

Very strange, I don't see what there is to get them stuck. Anyway, pop the bonnet, there are battery terminals under there to charge from a jump start, on the right hand side somewhere.

Open bonnet
Put negagive jump lead on chassis

Positive lead on either of the 2 terminals on the RHS bulkhead and it should give you enough voltage to get the key out.

NO to release the key.
its a mechanism that locks the key in if the auto is not left in P, to prevent a start in any other position
