Will be possible - Alfa done it! but probably not cost effective.

Surely JTD 166's are available to you?

It's a question I have asked myself recently but was decided another way - see the new thread I'm about to post

If the 166 JTD had been RHD I would have brought one and I am sure more would have been leased or brought from new. Alfa missed a good opportunity there.

funnily enough i saw a 166 JTD the other day at Tesco, LHD, the badge just seemed strange to have on the back! sounded nice tho for a diesel.

It should be between £1000 & £1500 the better systems i.e gas injection you probably won't be able to tell it's running on gas a cheaper system will probably lose you about 10 - 20hp my 2.5 V6 is currently costing just over 10p per mile which is what my 1.3 Mk2 Escort cost to run in 1990!

Re: Fitting a JTD in 166 3.0

I thought it would be a good question becose of ever higer fuel prices and very good alfa jtd motor which if allready proven in alfa 166. I myself have allready bought a 166 with lpg allready installed, however not operational as i tested it. Didtn have it checked yet. Didnt see the need really. Now it seem it will soon have to run on lpg .

Re: Fitting a JTD in 166 3.0

is it still seen as "an investment" to fit one? ie retain value?

Re: Fitting a JTD in 166 3.0

Doesn't seem to affect prices that much although the last few 166 with gas on ebay have gone higher than normal if not by the price of the conversion

Re: Fitting a JTD in 166 3.0

i have bought this one becose it had lpg, but the prices was very low becose of 3.0 v6. Lpg heps you sell the car for regular price quicker, but it doesnt make it more expensive. Not in my country...
