Have we finaly found all 166 issues?
looks like we have come to an end guys, no one seems to have any issues that cant be dealt with any more, and this room is getting a little slow (not in an offensive way) so maybe its time to have a summery of what goes wrong with the 166;
RAD
MAF
Fly by wire
Dog bone
Rain Sensor
Cruise Control
Xenon head lights, well just need fitting back correctly
Bushes on the rear
ICS backlight on some
Gas canisters in the middle of the A46, Fatal to the 166
erm........

Left turn indicator.
Vent cover on drivers door.
My GPS aerial is kinked to the left, can't straighten it. Funniy enough my personal organ is also kinked to the left and I can't straighten that either, certainly not on a good night anyway....

Re: Have we finaly found all 166 issues?
central locking door motors
water pumps made of plastic
cambelt tensioners not man enough
some of the lounges have become a bit quiet as so many questions now live in the engine and ICE sections. Conclusion, as long as it starts and the radio works, we're happy.

....and a clutch damper that doesn't really seem to do anything (well mine didn't anyway, but some say it makes the clutch much lighter). And having removed it, my 166 is now 300gms lighter so will obviously go much faster

....whoops, forgot - the Alfa bonnet badge that just wants to faaaaade away (or is that the same for all Alfa bonnet badges - the whole batch must have been made on a Monday morning or Friday afternoon?).
....and the centre arm-rest lid which breaks its hinges.
....and the dash cubby hole lid that doesn't open unless you tap it in just the right place

Wejboy,
Have a go at the cubby hole lid hinges (see earlier thread) - it works.

If you think this list is bad you should go to the ford puma forum.
Almost every bloom part of that car is a "Know weak spot"

Clutch pedal repair to take up play and make the clutch usable and not just have 1/4 of an inch at the bottom of the pedal.

Will give it a go....lots of other tips in that thread like raising the rubber height to put more pressure on the lid.

Re: Have we finaly found all 166 issues?
what about the carved from stone sportronic gearbox which is supposedly sealed for life it isn't even on the service schedule, mine died on me albeit after 80k miles but still.... while we are on the subject also how about the gearbox ecu positioned just under the A/C heater matrix which if it leaks guess what one useless ecu.......
oh yeah how about light bulbs that need a flaming nuclear science degree to carry out what should be a simple diy job.
