And it's goodbye from me... and hello to Tony

I was THINKING about selling the 166 and got a call from alfaowner, alfa145.com and Northern Italian Car Night Tony yesterday saying he wanted a 166. He came and looked, we haggled and he picks it up tomorrow.

So will you guys please warmly welcome Tony - I'm sure he's lurking around here already.

This is one 166 that will be sorely missed: a year and nearly 20,000 miles in comfort, syle and happiness.

I don't know yet, so for now I'm going to find a £500 banger (146?!) until I make my mind up and I'll use the cash for housey stuff. Very tempted by a Golf vr6. I tried one yesterday and they go a lot, have enough doors and sound great. also tempted by an imprezza but my head is telling me no no no no no.

Thanks Rich... I am indeed a lurking member of this parish. Thank you for the 166, she's an excellent replacement for my dearly departed 155...

£500 should get you into a rather nice 164 and then you can forget about the 'banger' part

I think my 164 would work out to about £350 pounds and is easily the best value car I've ever bought!

Cheers,
-Alex

I think 164 prices may be hardening up, esp the 24V - not many on eBay these days.

Wouldn't really think of selling mine for £500 and it's no oil painting.
