Re: Kwik Fit

Car is now booked in with indie specialist - bit more expensive but at least I will sleep at night!
Thanks all for advise.

lol @ Nev , dnt y spk txt Nev , y gettin OLD M80 !

Took my new (well , y'know ) 155 in for tracking test & setup , £26.
Handling still not too good , so in the confident knowledge that the static tracking was a-ok , fitted new wishbones & arb droplinks , went to independent place ( closer) for re-track. Couldn't be done as t/r/end loose , causing wheel to shift slightly under acc or braking .
Such a shame the K/F spanner monkey didn't spot that , although he did notice a blow in the exhaust while it was up there , oddly enough !!
To whom do I send the bill for the goosed tyre , unneccessary wishbones , droplinks etc?
(Avoid Kwickeefickee like the plague , mateys. That way leads to ruin IMO )

Re: Kwik Fit

Kwik-Fit are a nightmare, couldn't even perform an oil change on my 156 - and their prices are jaw dropping - however, I was shocked this week when I managed to get 4 Continental Sport Contact 3 tyres, including fitting at my home for £485 all in - bargain for the Ti 18"

Re: Kwik Fit

I had a bad experience with 'National', they buggered up my tracking well and proper! When I took it back to tell them, they still couldn't fix it properly, eventually got it sorted out by Kwik-Fit for free as they managed to get me an official Alfa exhaust downpipe with the 2 cats and fitted it for £350 inc V.A.T. so they went out of their way to keep me happy.

The guy is a genuine car enthusiast, had a right old natter about Alfa's, got my M.O.T. coming up, might consider taking it to them for that and an interim service.

Re: Kwik Fit

I've always found Kwik Fit really helpful, although I only really use them for tyres. One thing worth noting is that they will match internet prices. I got some Michelin Pilot Sport 2's down from £278 to £198 each!
