Alloy Wheel Options - What Fits Series 1 ?

I'm looking at a 2001 yr 166. From my research it appwears that they came with 2 styles of 17" wheels.

One style has the 5 circles & the other has 5 oval circles with smaller openings between each circle on the outer rim.

Both are very classy but are there other options to consider. I recently saw an Italian 166 Series 1 that had 17" GTA wheels normally fitted to the 147 and 156 GTA's.

What are the critical numbers to ensure correct fittment. Presuming the offset is correct will these GTA wheels fit straight on.

The 166 has 5x108, the GTA is 5x98(?). But I guess there are spacers with both bolt patterns since I've also seen them with these rims. But I have to say, they don't look good in the 166!

For me there is only one set of rims...
(thanks for an opportunity to show off my wheels.. )

Yup without a doubt elbarto ...My choice too ..thanks again dave harrison Now I cant wait for the wheel alignment on Lacey and good weather to get the wheels out of my neighboures garage and onto Lacey.

I just love those wheels with the 5 lines meeting in the centre. There are equvalents which dont meet in the centre but not the same.

Yes, very nice wheels DavidP. Are those the Zender wheels - are they 16:" or 17".

What does the 98 and 108 refer to ?.

I guess it's matter of personal taste. There's nothing wrong with the Alfa wheels as fitted - but it's nice to differentiat occasionally. The issue I see with the standard alloys is that they are suseptable to gutter rash quite easily. Not me but the wife, well she a bit how do you do in the parking department. Not as cautious as I'd like at times.

DavidP has 17" Zender Sienas - I recently sold them to him

The 108 refers to the spacing of bolt centres.

I like the standard ones too, and they are easy to keep clean - no tooth brush required!

these are my 17's, replicas of the sport alloys that were an option with the zender bodykit, i got them from gtaitalianwheels.com, they also do GTA replicas for the 166 and very nice multispoke 18's, good prices as well. i picked mine up and they have a nice selection of alfas for sale in a shed on the farm they opperate from.

mitch upgrading to 17's has had an adverse effect on the ride quality but its improved the handling no end, but i do miss the smooth ride of the 16's

Ride quality is better in the Ti on my 234/40/18s than it was on the Super on 225/45/17s. Must be down to the suspension upgrades on the facelift!?

Re: Alloy Wheel Options - What Fits Series 1 ?

Ride quality on 245/40/18 Bridgestones at 39psi is much better on my FL TS than previous TS on standard 205/55/16. The roads around Leeds are terrible and new car is a huge improvement. I agree that it must be down to the revised suspension (also much less road noise than previous 2003 car)
