Cd radio no sound

Took battery off yesterday to clean throttle body.Replaced it after job done. The radio (Blaupunkt SB05) switches on ok with all displays working ,Cd loads & runs with correct displays but there is no sound at all.The mute is not activated on steering wheel or head unit.It can't be the fuse as the unit operates but have noticed the sound I.C gets warm.I have checked cables at the rear of the head unit and all is in order.Any ideas as to the reason please?......If a code is required would the unit request one?( I have no radio card provided with car)
Cheers

Welcome to AO.

It's not the code as this message would come up when it turns on.

Is it the same for all audio sources? Blue&Me, Radio ?

Solved the problem.I took battery off again for 5 minutes then replaced it carefully avoiding any fizzing that could cause spiking and hey presto sound was back!
