I need to test my 159 3.2 ECU
My 2005 3.2 159 is playing up. Most of the time it starts fine but maybe once in every 10-15 attempts it turns over but does not fire. If the car's warm then it may fire but struggles to idle and quickly stalls. Reseting the ECU (disconnecting the battery for 45 mins) has fixed it every time so far.
The first time it happened the AA diagnosed a faulty low pressure fuel pump. I got this replaced at the local backstreet garage who reported a Low Fuel Pressure fault code was stored. Since then I've got a local Alfa specialist to take a look and they see the same code.
Their advice is to get the ECU checked before trying anything else. The problem is, I'm struggling to find anyone who can do it locally (Oxford). Most people say that they can't test the ECU from the 3.2. I've found someone in York who claims to be able to test it, but they need the whole car rather than just the ECU. I'm not familiar with the process but I'm surprised at that...
Can anyone point towards someone who can test my ECU?
